About Yamano Lab
ヤマノラボは、山・トレイル・自然の魅力を研究し、発掘し、伝える「山の研究所」です。日本人にとって身近な存在である山。でも、その楽しみ方はまだまだ奥深く、知られていない魅力がたくさんあります。自分たちが山や自然の中で感じてきた幸福感を、より多くの人に届けたい。それがヤマノラボの出発点です。
仕事のあり方や生活スタイルが大きく変わりつつある今、自由に使える時間をどう過ごすかが、人生の豊かさをますます左右するようになっています。山・自然との時間は、そのひとつの答えだと私たちは信じています。気軽に自然に触れ、気持ちをリフレッシュし、そこから生まれる幸福感を感じてほしい。ヤマノラボはその場と機会を作り続けます。
私たちの研究は、机上で終わりません。発見した自然の楽しみ方を、実際の滞在体験として形にする。それが蔵王ヴィラです。
Yamano Lab is a "mountain laboratory" — dedicated to exploring, discovering, and sharing the wonders of mountains, trails, and nature. Mountains are a familiar presence in Japanese life, yet their depths are far from fully known. We want to share the joy and happiness we have found in nature with as many people as possible. That is where Yamano Lab begins.
As the way we work and live continues to evolve, how we choose to spend our time is becoming an ever more important part of a fulfilling life. We believe that time in the mountains and nature is one powerful answer. Yamano Lab exists to create those spaces and opportunities.
Our research doesn't end on paper. We turn what we discover about enjoying nature into a real, lived stay — that is Zao Villa.

旅先で何日も一緒に過ごすと、賑わう時間だけでなく、ひとりになれる時間があってこそ、心地よく過ごせる。小さな子供も、大人も、それぞれに。世界26ヶ国・50を超えるトレイルを歩いたオーナー夫婦が、その両方が叶う「ひとりひとりに、居場所がある家」を、建築そのものに落とし込みました。
同じ屋根の下で、それぞれが居場所を見つけ、また集まってくる。まだ世界に知られていない蔵王の魅力を、国内外のより多くの人に届けること。それも、私たちの大切なミッションのひとつです。
When you spend several days together on a trip, it's not just the lively moments but the quiet time alone that makes a stay feel right — for the youngest guests and the adults alike. Owners who have walked more than 50 trails across 26 countries built both into the architecture itself, creating a house with a place for everyone.
Under one roof, everyone finds their own place, then comes back together. Delivering the still-undiscovered appeal of Zao to more people, both in Japan and around the world — that too is an important part of our mission.

About Us
2016年、夫婦でバックパッカーとなり300日間・26ヶ国・50を超えるトレイルを歩く旅に出ました。その記録を発信するメディア「TrailTravelers」を運営しています。
世界各地を旅する中で、自然の中での滞在が人にもたらす豊かさを実感してきました。美しい景色の中でゆっくりと流れる時間、大切な人との会話、その土地ならではの食や文化との出会い。旅先での忘れられない記憶は、いつもそういった瞬間から生まれていました。
蔵王ヴィラは、そんな体験を蔵王で実現したいという思いから生まれました。山と自然を愛し、世界中を旅してきた自分たちだからこそ作れる場所。それがヤマノラボの原点です。
In 2016, we set off as a couple on a 300-day journey across 26 countries, walking over 50 trails around the world. We documented our adventures through our media platform, TrailTravelers.
Traveling through so many places, we came to deeply appreciate what time in nature gives us. Unhurried moments in beautiful surroundings. Meaningful conversations with the people we love. Encounters with local food, culture, and ways of life.
Zao Villa was born from a desire to create exactly that kind of experience in Zao. A place shaped by people who love mountains and have traveled the world. That is where Yamano Lab begins.
